This board has shown a repeated disregard for transparency, fiscal responsibility, and the rights of the community it is supposed to serve. The examples of mismanagement and overreach are staggering:
- Five students expelled in just 60 days. Where is the accountability for these decisions? What due process did these students and their families receive?
- Blatant violations of individual rights. I was personally denied entry to a public board meeting for failing to present an ID—an ID policy hastily implemented to silence dissent and removed just hours after a lawsuit was filed. My rights were violated, and yet, there is no outrage from those who claim to champion fairness. Click here to see the solicitor's response when a reporter asked why the district was advised to take this action. Are we receiving sound legal advice, or is the solicitor prioritizing their own financial gain at the expense of our tax dollars?
- Where is the outrage for others whose rights were trampled? Mr. Kitt and the Spigels have endured egregious violations of their rights, leading to lawsuits that could have been avoided if this board operated with integrity and accountability.
- Misuse of tax dollars to protect a board member. How much of YOUR money has been spent defending Mr. Formica, whose actions and statements have caused embarrassment and harm to this district?
The board has weaponized the district’s resources—including the police force, solicitor, and taxpayer funds—to protect themselves from accountability and stifle dissent. This includes:
- Armed officers denying entry to public meetings based on questionable new policies.
- Cease and desist letters sent to three community members by the district’s solicitor. No due process, no charges—just an attempt to intimidate.
- Multiple lawsuits, including action from the ACLU. The ACLU doesn’t take frivolous cases, and they have deep pockets, yet the board chose to fight instead of owning their wrongdoing.
In just the last 90 days, this board has approved at least three “confidential legal settlements” without providing any details to the public. These are your tax dollars at work—funding legal fights to defend poor decisions and silence community voices.
Some claim that lawsuits are simply about individuals seeking financial gain. That’s false. The plaintiffs in these cases are not asking for monetary compensation; they are fighting to restore their rights—and yours.
This board operates like a lawless entity, wasting your money to defend a racist board member and shield itself from accountability. The community deserves answers, transparency, and leadership that prioritizes students and taxpayers, not power and secrecy.
Where is the outrage?
